Today's UK Government publication of fuel poverty statistics for England shows that a lot more remains to be done to help people in the country be warm in their own homes. While fuel poverty levels have decreased slightly in comparison with 2023, factors such as stubbornly high housing and energy costs are meaning that people are being kept in a position of being unable to afford to adequately heat their homes. We know that the UK Government's Warm Homes Plan is on the way and Warmworks stands ready to work with the government, sharing our expertise and knowledge developed by helping more than 50,000 homes be warmer in Scotland over the last 10 years, to help drive down these levels of fuel poverty. #FuelPoverty #Energy #EnergyEfficiency #Heating

Since 2015, we have helped tens of thousands of people to better manage their energy use and live warmer, happier, healthier lives. We were founded in 2015 as a joint venture partnership between Energy Saving Trust, Changeworks and Everwarm. Since then, we have supported more than 25,000 households in Scotland as the Managing Agent of the Scottish Government’s national fuel poverty scheme, Warmer Homes Scotland. We have continued to expand our work, taking on new contracts and building our presence across the UK, now with more than 100 members of staff based across our offices in Edinburgh, London and Kirkwall.

Scotland and England take different approaches to tackling fuel poverty with the most fundamental distinction being the definition of the term itself. Here's a few thoughts on why this is currently the case and what we could do to improve things. https://lnkd.in/eRNqJ37t

It was great working with Jade Lewis on this insightful newsletter, which discusses the issue of #fuelpoverty, which is firmly at the top of?our agenda. Read about our approach in this insights piece from Simon Kemp FRSA titled 'What can we learn from tackling fuel poverty in Scotland?' https://bit.ly/3XVHjBk Connected Response Ltd AirEx Technologies NexGen Carbon Zero
This week's guest editor, Jade Lewis, Chief Executive at Jade Advocacy, dives into one of the most pressing issues facing millions of households: fuel poverty. With 3.17 million households in England alone struggling to afford warmth, it’s clear that bold action is needed. Jade discusses: - Why the current fuel poverty metric underestimates the crisis - How retrofitting homes can cut bills, boost energy security & create jobs - Innovative solutions like AirEx smart bricks, Connected Response’s HeatSage, and NexGen’s infrared heating From improving health outcomes to supporting Britain’s clean energy goals, tackling fuel poverty is a win-win for people, industry, and policymakers alike. ?? Today is my one-year anniversary with Warmworks. I didn't know my EPC from my EWI before I started, but by working on several exciting projects and internal communications over the past year, I’ve learned a lot along the way and have been able to grow both personally and professionally. I’m proud to work for such a values-driven business and am grateful for the constant support, valuable experiences and meaningful connections that I have made – and winning a coveted WARM Award is the icing on the cake! I want to thank everyone at Warmworks for making this past year truly memorable, and I look forward to seeing what more I can achieve in the years to come. #WorkAnniversary #Values #Support
