Ideal for industries where cleanliness is key—food, pharmaceuticals, and chemicals—electropolishing ensures a sleek, polished finish for better performance and safety. Here’s how it works: Setup: The metal part is submerged in an electrolytic bath, typically containing a mixture of acids like sulfuric and phosphoric acid. The part acts as the anode (positive electrode), while a separate metal acts as the cathode (negative electrode). Current Application: A direct electrical current is applied between the anode and the cathode. This causes metal ions on the surface of the part to dissolve and flow away into the solution. Selective Removal: Electropolishing removes the high points on the surface faster than the lower points, resulting in a smoother, more uniform finish. Rinse and Inspect: After electropolishing, the part is rinsed to remove residual chemicals and is then inspected to ensure a uniform, bright, and smooth surface. Here’s what we’ve accomplished: ?? Shell Sides: Chemically cleaned for optimal performance. ?? Tubes & Channels: Hydro-blasted tube IDs & channel IDs. ?? Advanced Testing: Remote Field Electromagnetic Testing (RFET) on tubes, with some degraded tubes plugged. ?? Machining: Tubesheet & body flange faces machined to remove pitting & restore flatness. ?? Nozzles: Several nozzle flange faces machined to remove pitting. ?? Reassembly, Hydrotesting & Coating: Fully reassembled, pressure tested, then blasted & painted for that fresh new look!!! These exchangers are now in top condition, ready for years of reliable service! ?
