A very disappointing move on the City of Seattle when a retailer is creating their own solutions with little to no support from the city. It’s definitely concerning when cities like Seattle and King County don't take stronger action to address ORC (Organized Retail Crime) and retail theft, especially when other major cities like San Francisco and Portland are making strides and holding offenders accountable. As Seattle and King County has moved much slower than other major cities to support the retail industry the loss of more retailers might be inevitable. Losing retailers impacts not only the local economy but also community safety and consumer trust. WAORCA urges the City to do much more to battle ORC and retail theft so stores like Safeway do not have to take these measures to keep their stores profitable. #accountability https://lnkd.in/gBhygppV

关于我们
Born from the ashes of the Washington State Organized Retail Crime Alliance, the Washington Organized Retail Crime Association (WAORCA) was founded in April 2021 as an organization dedicated to fostering partnerships between law enforcement professionals and loss prevention professionals to provide training, combat Organized Retail Crime (ORC) and other crimes impacting the business community. The partnership will aid in the sharing of cross jurisdictional information to help identify, disrupt, and apprehend ORC suspects in Washington and other states.
