? Congrats PSPE! ? With the support of our members and the governmental efforts of Wanner Associates, Governor Josh Shapiro signed into law Act No. 32 of 2024! Last week, several members and I traveled to Washington, DC for the National Propane Gas Association’s annual #PropaneDays to meet with lawmakers and advocate on behalf of the propane industry. The Pennsylvania Propane Gas Association’s delegation included Andy Stewart (Aero Energy); John Eddinger and Dylan Eddinger (Eddinger Propane); Ross Grimm and Becky Culp (Ross Welding Supplies); Lucy Shaffer (Shaffer’s Bottled Gas); Mark Zimora (Tankfarm); and Jim Wiltshire (F.W. Webb). In one day, we met with 10 (out of 17) Congressional Districts and both Senators. Thank you to the Representatives and staff members for taking the time to meet with us. I am proud to be a part of this important event and am so very grateful to have the privilege of working for the propane industry in Pennsylvania. #PAPGA #NPGA #CleanEnergy #Propane #EnergyForEveryone #WashingtonDC

Our Safari-themed celebrations are still roaring! Today, we shine the spotlight on our Young Professional Rising Star: Katherine Walls, CMP This award recognizes a rising star within our chapter to one member, either planner or supplier, who has five or less years of experience within the meetings and events industry and has provided outstanding contributions to our chapter through active participation in meetings, committees, and volunteering. Katherine received multiple nominations for this award, with one nominator noting: "It is evident in Katherine's quiet demeanor that shining a light on herself is not within her comfort zone, but she is a RISING STAR from all aspects of its definition. She lifts others up, listens quietly and responds positively, leads by example and has created a respectful professional position amongst her planner peers and supplier professionals." Keep shining bright Katherine! #MPIMP #SafariCelebration #AwardWinners #MemberSpotlight #EventProfs #MeetingProfessionals #MeetingsMatter #EventIndustry #MPIMiddlePA #MPI #MPIMPcelebratesYOU #MeetingPlanners

Wow— what an honor! Thursday evening I was awarded MPI Middle Pennsylvania’s Rising Young Professional of the Year Award at the Annual Award Celebration and Silent Auction at Kalahari Resorts! I was so excited to be able to have my husband and daughter there with me to experience a little bit of my world. MPIMP has been there every step of the way these past 3 years as I have found myself working in roles that more align with my ultimate career goals. Last year I even obtained my CMP certification (Certified Meeting Professional), which has been a dream of mine for quite some time. I couldn’t have done this without the support of MPIMP and fellow members/friends. I am grateful for the people I have met, things I have learned, and opportunities I have been given. Not only has this group of amazing humans supported me in my professional life, but they have also supported me in my personal life too. Beyond grateful for this recognition is an understatement.

Exciting news! Legislation requirements are making progress for our engineers. Bill 403 passed the Senate in February but still needs help. This bill allows for engineering experience obtained before the passage of the EIT to apply toward licensure. PSPE fully supports this bill and encourages our members to use YOUR voice to help lead it to pass in the House. And it's easy! Contact your local state House Rep, and click here to show support: https://lnkd.in/d4xf-gJs

This is important legislation for many, many people in PA. The cost of hearing aids is beyond the ability of many to pay, forcing many to go without, and others to resort to cheaper products, that may not be best for them. It's time hearing joined vision as a sense that is worth insuring. You can help by scanning the QR code, and sending a message to your state legislators today!
