February marks Black History Month, a period dedicated to recognizing and honoring the significant achievements and contributions of Black Americans. Originally established as 'Negro History Week' in 1926 by Carter G. Woodson, this observance was expanded to a month-long celebration in 1976. We pay tribute to distinguished figures such as: - Rosa Parks - Martin Luther King Jr. - John Lewis - Bayard Rustin - Malcolm X - Fannie Lou Hamer - Thurgood Marshall - W.E.B. Du Bois - Julian Bond - Ella Baker - Dorothy Height - Medgar Evers - Shirley Chisholm - A. Phillip Randolph - Claudette Colvin - Angela Davis - Ida B. Wells - Jesse Jackson - Muhammad Ali These individuals were instrumental in the fight for Civil Rights, which are the very rights we ALL benefit from today. Time for an all dessert diet. What we could do: Balance it out! Sure, desserts are great, but don’t forget your veggies—they’re like vitamins for your soul. ?? Opposite Move #3: Social Media Spiral What we do: Scrolling through everyone else’s highlight reel will definitely make me feel better. What we could do: Limit the doom-scroll and connect IRL. Even a quick walk outside can be a game-changer. ?? Opposite Move #4: Sleep Sabotage What we do: Netflix till 3 a.m.? Yes please!!! Who needs sleep when I’ve got caffeine and regret? What we could do: Prioritize rest—your mind recharges like a phone battery overnight. Don’t leave yourself at 5%! ????
