Today, we celebrate a milestone - our first cohort of the Global Leadership Accelerator has graduated! Over 5 months, 18 exceptional women leaders from Nigeria, Iran, Burkina Faso, South Korea, Mongolia, Sudan, China, Syria, India, Senegal, Yemen, South Africa, Fiji and Nepal honed their leadership skills, built resilience and strengthened their impact. The Global Accelerator was established to serve those outside our traditional markets. Congratulations to our graduates! The future of media leadership is in great hands.

This weekend, we hosted the very first WIN Guild Summit in Malawi— a gathering of some of the most accomplished and influential women in media from?15 countries across?#Africa, the #Arab Region and #SoutheastAsia! Behind closed doors, these #media leaders engaged in candid discussions on leadership, financial sustainability and mentorship opportunities, analysing the pressing challenges and opportunities shaping the future of #journalism. A key theme in these sessions was inclusivity, which is a necessity for a healthy and thriving industry. From fostering diverse newsrooms to ensuring women are getting to decision-making levels, the Summit reinforced the power of collective action in transforming the #media landscape. In an industry that often operates in silos, the openness of these conversations was a powerful reminder that progress comes from learning together. The impact of these closed-door sessions will soon be visible! This is just the starting point of an initiative determined to drive change to build a future where #equality and #inclusion create a thriving #media industry!

The first edition of the WAN-IFRA WIN Guild Leadership Summit kicked off in Malawi this morning. In her opening remarks, Melanie Walker, WAN-IFRA WIN Executive Director, said, "We launched the Guild last year to create a dedicated space where newsroom and business leaders could come together to support and learn from each other. Over the past six months, these dynamics have taken root through peer mentoring sessions, and we hope that this peer support and learning will continue over the next two days. But we also created the Guild because, after 15 years of working together, we understand the collective power of female leadership—and we want to harness that power to accelerate positive change."

An interactive session on Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Today, we held an SEO session for the Arab region on Zoom, led by expert Khalid Al-Barmawi, where he discussed trending topics including: ?? Our lovely trainer Monica Cheru led an insightful session on sexual and online harassment with a dynamic team from the Zimbabwe Online Content Creators Association (ZOCCA). The discussion brought to light the challenges #journalists face in #digital spaces, where harassment is widespread and often unaddressed. Participants highlighted the urgent need for clear policy frameworks to protect digital professionals and ensure safer online interactions. We recently concluded an eye-opening session on "Artificial Intelligence Prompts in the Newsroom," led by digital transformation expert Lyndsey Jones. The session provided valuable insights into navigating AI-generated biases in journalism and explored innovative AI-driven tools like chatbots and interactive storytelling. A standout moment?
