We hosted our first WAMbinar of 2025 on January 24. We welcomed colleagues from 12 different countries to our session led by our colleague, Karsten Henriksen-Sanchez CAMXUS, President and CEO of the Bison Institute. Generously joining us at 4 am local time, Karsten shared his journey in the Canadian context of postsecondary Indigenous education leadership. Key takeaways from this enlightening session included navigating the complex political landscape, which at times inhibits agility, coupled with the need to provide immediate solutions for industry and blue-chip companies to promote employability. Karsten shared the education and training solutions enacted in a range of rural, remote, and urban locations in Canada, leveraging the concept of bundling mini qualifications and programmes to challenge the orthodoxy of standard offerings. He highlighted the need to ensure an equitable focus for First Nations and French-speaking provinces and territories. Karsten shared his thoughts about taking a pragmatic and visionary approach to embedding Microcredentials within mainstream education as crucial to meeting the ever-evolving demands of Industry 5.0 and enabling free and full access to work for all, particularly the demographic of disengaged learners. ??
