?? Our Believe moment of the week: Just before closing, a gentleman walked in to register as a new client. He recently moved back from Colorado to become a caregiver for a friend’s family of four—a truly selfless act that touched all of our volunteers. He shared how overwhelming it’s been to care for them and was deeply grateful to learn about the Food Pantry. With tears in his eyes and a shaking voice, he thanked each volunteer, saying, “I couldn’t do it without you.” Moments like these remind us why we do what we do. ?? #BelieveMoment #CommunitySupport #WCFDB #NeighborsHelpingNeighbors

?? Walworth County Toys For Tots! ?? This year, we are thrilled to announce that Sherry Leka, who runs Circle of Friends, will be managing the Toys for Tots Program at the Walworth County Fairgrounds! A huge thank you to Tri-County Riders for their incredible generosity—once again, they delivered a truckload of toys, brought to us by Love, Inc.! We’re also excited to collaborate with Lakeland Community Church to make this holiday season even brighter for our community. To ensure we reach those in need, we've started offering signup sheets for our guests. This initiative allows us to provide a wonderful shopping experience for hundreds of families and thousands of children. ?? At Walworth County Food and Diaper Bank, SAM stands for Senior Assistance Mission. Our SAM bags—filled with household items, toiletries, and always a small piece of candy—are a special monthly offering for households with at least one guest over 60. This program was born from a brainstorm with Susan Hughes and Mary Ellen Phelan years ago, and each month, we add a thoughtful new touch. This year, thanks to a generous grant from Bader Philanthropies, Inc. , we were able to expand our SAM bags with more items and reach even more seniors in our community. A special addition this December: Mary Ellen has included her mother's favorite candy, Tic Tacs, to honor what would have been her 108th birthday. ??Last month we distributed a record number of SAM bags—a testament to the need we're meeting together. But this year, they’ve outdone themselves—drum roll, please—by dropping off OVER 2,000 items! ??
