It's Official: WalkMe? is Now Part of SAP! What a journey... sorry in advance for getting emotional, but this moment calls for some reflection. There are countless people I owe thanks to, but I’ll stick to sharing a little piece of my own story here. We launched WalkMe on April 2nd, 2012—that's 149 months or 4,546 days ago. It all began in my kitchen, where we developed the first DAP platform. When we launched, we offered a freemium model and quickly signed over 100 paying customers. It was then that I made the big move to San Francisco. It was my first time on the West Coast, and honestly, I didn’t know a single person. I found myself eating dinner at random meetups every night just to get by. But soon enough, we began building our U.S. operations, and by the end of 2013, we hit $1M ARR. Then, we shifted focus to enterprise customers, and in just 5.5 years, we skyrocketed to over $100M ARR. Along the way, we didn’t just build a business—we created a brand new category: DAP (Digital Adoption Platforms). And wow, did we have fun doing it. The culture we built at WalkMe was unlike anything else. It truly felt like family. When the pandemic hit in 2020, we faced incredible challenges. But we pushed through, and by June 2021, we took the company public. Being a public company CEO has been the most humbling experience of my life. From losing nearly $100M a year, to generating $16M in positive cash flow in Q1 2024 alone, it's been a wild ride. Now, after 13 years, WalkMe is joining forces with SAP. I still remember the moment I realized how big WalkMe could become with SAP—their reach, their infrastructure, their vision for integrating process, systems, and people. This is a match made for scale. People often ask me how it feels to let go of my “baby.” My answer? It’s not a baby, it’s a wild teenager! And I’m excited for this next chapter because, with SAP, we’re going to scale DAP like never before. To my fellow entrepreneurs: keep pushing. Being a CEO or founder is one of the hardest jobs in the world. You're constantly on, constantly making tough calls. You’ll have days where you feel on top of the world and days where you feel like you’re failing. But never give up. That perseverance is what sets you apart. We had a saying at WalkMe: Are we giving 1,000%? As long as the answer was "yes," things always worked out in the end. Always remember—try, fail, and try again. Lean on your data, and always assume you’re wrong until the data proves you right. And most importantly, connect with other founders. It will give you priceless perspective. To everyone who has been a part of this WalkMe journey—thank you. We didn’t just create jobs, we built an entire ecosystem. We created an industry together.
