BIG NEWS! Yesterday, more than 30 countries—including the United States—signed on to the COP29 "Declaration on Reducing Methane from Organic Waste." Representing 47% of global methane emissions from organic waste, these countries declared “their intent to work collaboratively and expeditiously to increase the pace and scale of action” toward eight objectives that together focus on prevention, separate collection, and improved management of organic waste. Read our blog for more information: https://loom.ly/f-QC5kw You can also watch "Dana's Dish" to hear from ReFED President Dana Gunders about the importance of this declaration for reducing #FoodLoss and #FoodWaste. #COP29 #methane #OrganicWaste #sdg12

Proud to highlight the incredible work of Toxic Free Philly Drexel, as they champion organic practices at Drexel University! Through their activism, innovative, and hands-on research, these students have paved the way making Drexel a fully organic campus. Through their research, the team is analyzing weed pressure to gauge the effectiveness of sustainable turf management techniques. Here’s a look behind the scenes: ?? Using a random number generator, students select spots on campus. ?? At each location, they toss a square frame and estimate the weed coverage within it, rounding to the nearest 10%. ?? By averaging estimates, they get a clear picture of weed presence and overall turf health! Their commitment is proving that healthier, pesticide-free campuses aren’t just possible—they’re the future. Together, we’re reimagining what sustainable, resilient landscapes look like in higher education. This movement at Drexel is just the beginning! #SustainableCampus #OrganicLandCare #PesticideFree #RewildYourCampus #HigherEdSustainability #GreenCampusInitiative #StudentActivism #EnvironmentalLeadership #EcoFriendly #CampusSustainability #FutureOfLandscapes #ToxicFree
