In the next few days, we are about to start a huge transition for Open Specy to work completely on the edge. This will allow us to scale without having huge costs, current monthly costs for the web application are 200$ per month and growing, unfortunately, the costs are scaling exponentially with demand but edge computing will allow us to continue scaling without the increase in cost. There are going to be some huge benefits from this and probably some downsides. If you start having trouble using Open Specy once we make this switch please reach out to me and we will try to get it sorted out. Appreciate everyone bearing with us for the next couple weeks while the update is ironed out. There will be a lot of changes! The best way to keep the app stable is to use the R package to run the app, as long as you don't update it, it won't change. #OpenAnalysis #OpenScience #OpenSpectroscopy

Could the pesticides we use to protect crops be putting young minds at risk? Alarming new research shows that neonicotinoids—widely used pesticides—may impair brain development in children exposed during pregnancy. New studies highlight how these chemicals, originally designed to protect crops, may carry hidden costs for developing minds and ecosystems. Initially created to target crop pests, these chemicals are now raising major concerns about potential risks to human health and critical pollinator populations. These findings reinforce the urgency of our work to foster chemical-free, sustainable campuses. Together, let’s stand for environmental stewardship and safeguards that prioritize both ecological and human health. Through these efforts, we contribute to a resilient, health-centered model for campus ecosystems. ??
