Excellent and inspiring story by Dr David Cox in NBC News, following a Stage 3 small bowel cancer patient who beat the disease with PD-1 inhibitors and a fecal matter transplant (FMT), after surgery and multiple rounds of chemotherapy and immunotherapy had failed to stop the cancer. While we've seen great success with FMT treatments, they aren't scalable. Kanvas Bio is changing that: “We have essentially made a synthetic version of the superdonor stool and then optimized and immortalized it so that it can be reproduced and used in the treatment of cancer patients worldwide,” CEO Matthew Cheng shared with NBC. Kanvas Bio successfully identified the key microbial strains that helped cure the patient and formulated them into a pill that will be used in upcoming clinical trials at MD Anderson Cancer Center and other cancer centers across North America. Yesterday, Lunar Outpost announced an agreement with SpaceX to deliver Lunar Outpost’s Lunar Terrain Vehicle (LTV) to the Moon aboard a SpaceX Starship for launch and landing. The vehicle, developed under NASA’s Lunar Terrain Vehicle Services contract, is set to revolutionize lunar surface mobility. It is being built by the Lunar Dawn team, led by Lunar Outpost in collaboration with industry leaders Leidos, MDA Space, The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, and General Motors.
