Waldo Burton Attends Koats For Kids Annual Concert Waldo Burton students enjoyed a night of beautiful music at the 2024 Koats for Kids Concert. Koats for Kids is an organization dedicated to providing warm coats for underserved kids and implementing songwriting programs for system-impacted youth. The annual concert at Gallier Hall featured amazing performances by New Orleans musicians, including Roots of Music, Michael Hecht (aka DJ El Camino), Koats for Kids String Quartet, Xavier University’s Music Department, Make Music NOLA students, Dr. Ko, and many more.

YouthForce NOLA is an education, business, and civic collaborative that builds bridges between school and work. Though career exposure, awareness, and integration into schools are paramount for helping students make decisions about their professional futures, YouthForce believes that application through work-based learning is where students have the opportunity to grow and internalize both hard and soft skills. To provide students with the strongest work-based learning opportunities possible, YouthForce NOLA created an internship program that places students with various partner companies throughout the city. This past summer, Concordia hosted one of the YouthForce interns, Zane, in our office. Zane was given the full spectrum of work while at the office, shadowing a few of our Project Managers during their workday. Check out his video recapping his time at Concordia!
