It was a wonderful afternoon celebrating Wake Technical Community College at their annual Ignite program. Another outstanding program Matt Smith, Scott Ralls, and team! Loved the safari theme! Thank you for inviting and including me again this year. The stories shared this afternoon were inspirational and uplifting. It was also great to see North Carolina State University's Chancellor Randy Woodson recognized. What an amazing partnership! GO PACK and EAGLES! Wake Tech continues to make a tremendous impact in our community and beyond! Thank you for all you do! Thank you also for your ongoing support of Wake Monarch Academy and our students. It means so much! They are continuing to earn college credit through the CCP program and doing well. I appreciate the opportunities for our students and am excited about the apprenticeship program! It was great seeing friends as well at the Ignite event. I look forward to catching up more soon! Richard Averitte Brandi McCarn Gerew, CAE, CMP Mary Angelini Terrance R. Jacqueline Whittenburg

  • This past Saturday was such a special night as Wake Monarch Academy held its third Gala for Recovery. NC State University Club hosted us this year and THANK YOU to everyone who came and showed their support! ?????? THANK YOU to all our sponsors, guests, volunteers, silent auction and live auction donors, and board. A special THANK YOU to Kathryn MacCormack and Darla Baker, our amazing teachers, who went ABOVE AND BEYOND to help. This could not have been accomplished without you!! WMA is so blessed to have you both!! Once again our event was made beautiful by Krystl Newton and Jamie Rodman. Each year they have made the most beautiful table flower arrangements to make our event extra special. THANK YOU for all you do for WMA! You are appreciated!! We were excited to have WRAL Renee Chou as our Emcee this year. Renee has been so supportive of WMA since the very beginning. It was so special to have her there. Renee, THANK YOU for your continued support and spending the evening with us! It meant so much! Our AMAZING Keynote was delivered by Darryl Strawberry who truly spoke from the heart, sharing his powerful story of recovery and redemption. His engagement with everyone and the words of wisdom he shared kept you hanging on every word! THANK YOU Darryl!! You have inspired millions of people around the world and we were honored to have you! THANK YOU!! You are such an inspiration and we so appreciate your support! A SPECIAL SHOUT OUT to our student Bodie who shared his powerful testimony and Brea who shared her testimony as a mom. It takes a LOT of guts to be vulnerable in front of a room full of people you don't know. Especially the first time! THANK YOU for sharing your journeys. When we share, we fight the stigma and encourage others to share. You both did a WONDERFUL job!! THANK YOU to Jay Izso who was our fabulous auctioneer for the evening! Jay, your jacket ROCKED and put a smile on everyone's face. THANK YOU for all the laughter and entertainment! You were AWESOME! THANK YOU to DJ-George Raleigh, Classic Carolina Photobooths, Scott Capell, photographer, FA/D Studios Art, and Owen Hanner who made our Impact video. You all made this night even more memorable!! We appreciate you ALL!! Thank you to everyone, again, for making this such a special evening!

  • It's always a great day at Wake Monarch Academy, especially when we get to celebrate a milestone in recovery! Yesterday, February 11th, Kayleigh had ONE YEAR IN RECOVERY and we got to celebrate her today!! We are SO PROUD of all that Kayleigh has overcome. She has worked very hard to be where she is today. In WMA tradition, Kayleigh cut her cookie the way she wanted and went right for the center..."sober." What a celebration to see her continuing to do what she needs to do for her success. WE LOVE YOU KAYLEIGH!! Keep moving forward! We have and will ALWAYS believe in YOU!! WAY TO GO!!??????

  • What a wonderful celebration we had on January 30th to celebrate this amazing student, Devin, on TWO YEARS in recovery!!! Devin began WMA as a freshman and has been with us since the beginning of his recovery journey. We are so incredibly proud of him!! The transformation we have seen in this young man has been remarkable. He is such a great friend to everyone, kind, and thoughtful, with a big heart that just makes you smile!! He loves music, published beats from things learned in our music class collaboration with Bach to Rock Apex and has aspirations to go to college. He is an overall, well-rounded, individual that we couldn't be more proud of! WAY TO GO DEVIN!!! WE LOVE YOU!!!

  • Give Recovery Today! There are just two days left to give! Help us with your financial gift as we keep serving teens recovering from substance use disorders. Our school provides students with a safe and supportive high school environment that empowers them to successfully pursue academic, personal and professional goals. We don't know what the new year will bring, but we are sure of a few things: * Teenage death from addiction is simply unacceptable. * No one should have to go through the process of recovery alone. * Every teen is worthy of a substance-free, productive, connected, and meaningful life. * We can't accomplish our work without you! Consider giving an end-of-year gift of any amount today to Wake Monarch Academy, the only recovery high school in the Triangle area. Help us meet the increased demand for scholarships and tuition assistance from families in our community! With your help, we can give the power of recovery to more families! https://lnkd.in/eBVVzbAr

  • One thing we have always said from the very beginning, is even if we could make a difference in one life; the journey, the tears, the struggles, joy, hard work, all the ups and downs....it would ALL be worth it. I praise God for all the blessings and the people He brought together to make a dream become a reality. Hands-down, I know Wake Monarch Academy has and is making a difference. Our WMA families make a difference in our own lives. The St. Romain family has been with us since we opened in 2021. Through all the ups and downs and the struggles along the way, recovery is a beautiful thing. So incredibly proud of the young woman Kayleigh has become. She has worked hard and there is so much to celebrate. Recovery first and foremost! Graduation next year and college goals too! ?? So very proud of Kayleigh's parents, Stephanie St. Romain and Trent St Romain. It takes a lot to be vulnerable and share a difficult journey with others; looking past judgement and the stigma that comes with addiction. Their goal to spread awareness, break the stigma and help others, has never ceased. Addiction is a family disease and all have their own path to recovery. They have inspired others to share and given HOPE! So incredibly proud of this family. One life...each life. What a blessing!!?????? https://lnkd.in/e4z5v5an
