The Waisman Early Childhood Program (WECP) is seeking a full-time assistant teacher. WECP is an inclusive, full-day, year-round preschool for children ages 1 through 6. Up to 1/3 of the children enrolled may have special needs because of a disability, medical condition, or behavioral challenge. WECP follows a developmental play-based curriculum and is licensed by the State of Wisconsin and accredited by the City of Madison and the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). This position is responsible for assisting with curriculum preparation, classroom facilitation, student monitoring to ensure safety and foster an environment of learning and development in accordance with established curriculum and interacts regularly with parents. Minimum starting pay is $19.00 per hour – negotiable based on experience and skills. We are hiring a Research Specialist to work within the Waisman Center's Infant Learning Laboratory. The Infant Learning Laboratory studies how infants and young children learn language, learn the meanings of words, find the patterns in language and track the properties of speech. This position will assist in development, execution and evaluation of the language research performed in the laboratory by tracking babies' progress through experimental research tasks, code videos of experiments, data management and data analysis. This position will also recruit participants for research studies in the laboratory, be responsible for the training and supervision of students, make purchases for the laboratory, aid in grant management and budget planning, and assist the principal investigator in manuscript and grant preparation. We are hiring a Psychologist to work within the Waisman Center's Autism and Developmental Disabilities (A&DD) Clinic. This position entails providing assessment services within an interdisciplinary outpatient setting for children referred for neurodevelopmental evaluation and intervention. This position will also be expected to participate in quality improvement efforts within the clinic. Other responsibilities may include provision of early intervention services, the supervision of psychology trainees, collaboration on research related to neurodevelopmental disabilities, and conducting trainings for community organizations, childcare professionals, and primary care networks. Waisman Biomanufacturing (WB) is hiring a Facilities and Equipment Specialist (Instrumentation Technologist)! This position plays a crucial role in maintaining the WB facility and its equipment, ensuring the cGMP manufacture of clinical trial products from a diverse range of projects. This position offers a unique opportunity to support the development and manufacture of novel biotherapeutics, allowing you to cultivate a broad skillset. Responsibilities will include general facility maintenance, troubleshooting facility and equipment issues, and performing equipment installation, validation, calibration, and preventative maintenance activities. This position will support the lab with recruitment and testing of families and children for new studies examining language development in Spanish-speaking bilingual children. Outreach, scheduling, running screenings, and holding information sessions are critical duties to accomplish this.
