The Waisman Early Childhood Program (WECP) is seeking a full-time assistant teacher. WECP is an inclusive, full-day, year-round preschool for children ages 1 through 6. Up to 1/3 of the children enrolled may have special needs because of a disability, medical condition, or behavioral challenge. WECP follows a developmental play-based curriculum and is licensed by the State of Wisconsin and accredited by the City of Madison and the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). This position is responsible for assisting with curriculum preparation, classroom facilitation, student monitoring to ensure safety and foster an environment of learning and development in accordance with established curriculum and interacts regularly with parents. Minimum starting pay is $19.00 per hour – negotiable based on experience and skills. The Infant Learning Laboratory studies how infants and young children learn language, learn the meanings of words, find the patterns in language and track the properties of speech. This position will assist in development, execution and evaluation of the language research performed in the laboratory by tracking babies' progress through experimental research tasks, code videos of experiments, data management and data analysis. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining the WB facility and its equipment, ensuring the cGMP manufacture of clinical trial products from a diverse range of projects. This position offers a unique opportunity to support the development and manufacture of novel biotherapeutics, allowing you to cultivate a broad skillset.
