Bloodwork used to check cholesterol levels and diabetes markers are typically covered at 100% under preventive care. However, blood chemistry tests (kidney or liver function, vitamin D, iron levels, etc.) are not considered preventive, nor is a thyroid panel. These types of tests will be subject to your deductible. One thing to consider to save money - lab work done at a hospital is significantly more expensive than at a standalone clinic or independent lab (Quest Diagnostics, Labcorp), due to higher overhead costs. #VASTUniversity #healthcare #preventivecare
