As president of the Washington Association of Black Journalists (WABJ), people often ask me, "Is journalism dying?" My answer is always, "No, but it is evolving. It is changing." I know this is true because of the students we work with in our Urban Journalism Workshop. They show up early on Saturdays with questions and a genuine interest in storytelling. We have over 25 students who have decided to spend their free time learning about this industry. Journalism isn't dying. You're looking at the future of journalism below!

Happy Birthday, Howard University! 158 years ago on March 2, 1867, the charter was signed that established our beloved institution. A lot has changed since 1867, but two things that have remained steadfast is Howard University’s commitment to producing leaders, change-makers, civil servants, activists, and more while also being the home to innovation, culture, excellence, and possibility. And during our Charter Day Convocation on Friday, February 18, our 18th President Ben Vinson, III reminded us of that very fact. “In these walls, in this sacred space that we call the Mecca, we are encouraged to be our best selves…to innovate, to inquire, to be bold, to discover the frontiers of excellence.” As we celebrate our history, legacy and the future of Howard, let us remember the power of possibilities. #howarduniversity #charterday #powerofpossibilities
