We protect and restore rivers and streams across Washington so fish, farms and communities can thrive for generations
关于我们
Founded in 1998, Washington Water Trust (WWT) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that restores water to Washington's rivers and streams to ensure quality habitat for salmon, steelhead and the other creatures and communities that depend on abundant, cool, clean freshwater. We craft smart, collaborative solutions to our freshwater challenges that will withstand the test of time in our rapidly changing world. Our approaches include purchasing/leasing water from landowners and water rights holders to protect instream, helping communities plan for long-term water needs while ensuring that enough water stays instream for the environment, exploring forest management practices and wetland/floodplain restoration approaches that will have long-term stream flow restoration benefits, and working to develop alternative water sources like recycled water and stored water to reduce late season impacts on our rivers and streams when they can least afford it.

Most of Washington is experiencing drought conditions right now. Record-breaking heat melted our mountain snowpack earlier than normal. Conditions in the Dungeness Valley are predicted to be the second driest since 1949. Thanks to our partners and supporters, WWT is boosting flows for fish at a critical time.
