Alyssa Labrador and Joseph Faria-Poynter recently attended the Interdistrict Transportation Competition at UC Berkeley and met several students at the Career Fair. W-Trans is proud to support several ITE Student Chapters and our staff routinely attend several events each year, where we first meet our future interns and Assistant Engineers/Planners!
关于我们
Since 1995 W-Trans has provided traffic engineering and transportation planning services that are inclusive and encompass the mobility needs of all potential users. We are particularly skilled in retrofitting existing streets and roads to make walking, bicycling and transit use safer and more convenient while also appropriately managing vehicle traffic. Our staff have honed their skills through experience on a variety of projects ranging from complete street corridors, streetscape improvements, traffic impact analysis, downtown revitalization, circulation elements, and area plans to designing transportation facilities such as traffic signals, roundabouts, bike facilities and pedestrian crossing enhancements to traffic safety and traffic signal operations. We take a holistic approach to traffic engineering, realizing that solutions must be more creative and rely on standards that are continuously evolving. Such efforts must be sensitive to the context of the surrounding land use and community goals to be successful. Our strength and focus are on balancing the technical needs and functionality of traffic with the desire of communities to create more livable streets and sustainable transportation systems.

Last week Transportation Engineer, Cameron Nye, traveled to his alma mater in San Luis Obispo to speak with Cal Poly ITE students about various types of public engagement for complete street projects. The students learned about the public engagement activities W-Trans conducted for the Coleman and Ringwood Avenues Transportation Study and finished with Q&A over lunch.

W-Trans assisted Rohnert Park with a “quick build” traffic calming project that was featured in The Press Democrat this week. This install uses bolt-down modular components, all of which are mountable, to create a circular traffic flow. It’s more accurately called a residential traffic circle due to the STOP sign being maintained on one leg and the need to maintain existing pedestrian crossings and ramps. This project was led by Principal Zack Matley, with Assistant Engineer William Andrews, EIT contributing to the original report and layout. Zack and Transportation Engineer Cameron Nye, PE also visited the site last week as the City’s crews were installing. The team will monitor speeds to evaluate effectiveness as the City considers implementation of similar projects elsewhere in Rohnert Park. https://lnkd.in/g37PvtsZ

Today ITE honored Dalene Whitlock as an Honorary Member at the ITE International Annual Meeting in Philadelphia! In 90 years, only 97 individuals have been so honored, and Dalene is the fifth woman to be bestowed with ITE’s highest recognition of notable and outstanding professional achievement. This is an outstanding testament to Dalene’s tireless work on behalf of W-Trans, our profession, and her community. Congratulations Dalene!

Administrative Director and Chief of DEIB at W-Trans | Master's Student in Applied Industrial-Organizational Psychology
Hi LinkedIn network! I am working on a research project looking at virtuality on teams. I am working on this study with Nick Denstaedt, LSSBB, Saylor Bane, and Brandy R. as part of our master's program in Industrial-Organizational Psychology at George Mason University. Anyone (age 18+) who works full time (32+ hours per week) on a team can participate. If that's you, please take ~10 minutes to contribute to our research and a greater understanding of our evolving work environments with in-person, remote, and hybrid work teams! We'd also very much appreciate your support in sharing or reposting this public-facing, voluntary survey with others. Thank you!
