OUR INVESTMENT STRATEGY We invest in Seed through Series B companies. We also reserve a portion of our capital to invest in proven portfolio managers who share our mission and vision, and have a successful track investment track record. At least 70% of our investments will be in women-led startups. At least 50% of those founders will also come from another traditionally underestimated group. The remaining 30% must have one of more of the following characteristics: -- Founder from a traditionally underestimated group, such as race, ethnicity, LGBTQ+ identity, socioeconomic status, nationality, age, or location. -- Solution focused on increasing diversity, equity and inclusion. We're thrilled at the most recent fundraise from our portfolio company Haloo, which uses AI to power trademarking with its enterprise SaaS product. We were early investors into the company and Founder Julie MacDonell, and are excited to continue our support into this early Series A round, led by the fantastic team at Innospark Ventures. Our GP Kate Brodock praised Haloo’s work in identifying technologies that allow the legal industry to more effectively handle trademarking processes. “This next stage will allow the company to further build a strong, leading edge product and remain highly competitive in the market,” Brodock said. No doubt about it. Amazon generates a lot of trash. In 2021, the company says it used 214 million or so pounds of single-use plastic in its packaging. Nonprofit Oceana put that figure at approximately?~700 million pounds. Thrilled to see Amazon join W Fund, NEA Ventures, and others investing into one of the greatest companies - Glacier, who is revolutionizing recycling with their innovative AI and robotics solutions.
