  • For the last Scholar Sunday of the school year, we’re highlighting Scott Burns (‘24) who majored in economics and public policy. He is from Montreat, NC, and was involved in Dores Divest, Vanderbilt's Beta Iota chapter of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity, the 2022 Caleb Hemmer campaign and 2022 Ferrell McDaniel campaign, Lights on the Lawn, KOACORE, and the Vanderbilt Peabody College Digital Spacial StoryLines on the Silent March of 1961 with Diane Nash and John Lewis. Scott shared about the impact he has made through his internships, work experience, and campus involvement. “As part of Nashville’s Judicial Court System, I worked on 12 campaigns for Civil Court and Criminal Court judges. With Lights on the Lawn, I?served as President and Vice President of Logistics and helped raise over $100,000 over two years for Mary Parrish Center. I also worked as a Business Analyst Intern for KOACORE, where I analyzed the supply and procurement of PED supplies and food banks to donate food and supplies to 1,000+ nonprofits across the US. I wrote and was awarded a 3-year Request for Proposal from Google to manage Event Security Services in the entire US for KOA-Live. For the last 4 summers, I worked at my hometown Presbyterian Conference Center — holding positions including Conference Co-Director (youngest in program history), Waterfront and Youth Center Coordinator, and Clubs Program Supervisor. This job will be the best I will ever have, but I’m excited to begin work at Capital One as a Business Analyst starting in August. I also just ran my first marathon!!” Congratulations on your graduation, Scott!
