Kristina learned that experience and hard work will get you where you want to go. She took time off after high school to work, save money, and explore careers—from becoming a military pilot, to working with animals, to becoming a mechanic. And when she was ready to take off, VSAC's Educational Opportunity Center provided the runway. https://lnkd.in/gQdzh7WT

Type 1 diabetes forced Zofia Kosakowski to become self-sufficient at a young age. With the help of VSAC and Upward Bound, she resolved to study at the University of Vermont, and earned plenty of scholarships. Today, on World Diabetes Day, Zofia says having diabetes taught her to be independent, driven, and in tune with her physical needs in a way that most kids don’t have to be. She’s now working toward both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in education and social work as part of a five-year program. More: https://lnkd.in/e5XuCWht #WorldDiabetesDay

Today we celebrated milestone anniversaries, ranging from five to forty years, for a group of VSAC employees. Together, these extraordinary people marked 330 years of dedication. We honor them for their service, making sure that Vermonters have the financial information and resources they need to pursue education and training goals beyond high school. Well done! ??
