VSAC's Kassidy Moore has been appointed to the National Council for Community and Education Partnerships (NCCEP) student engagement committee. Kassidy is an outreach counselor with VSAC's GEAR UP college and career readiness program. As a member of NCCEP’s newest committee, Kassidy will provide input and expertise on the knowledge and skills needed to support students effectively. Congratulations, Kassidy! The Association strives to empower counselors with the knowledge, skills, linkages, and resources to promote student success in the school, the home, the community, and the world. Type 1 diabetes forced Zofia Kosakowski to become self-sufficient at a young age. With the help of VSAC and Upward Bound, she resolved to study at the University of Vermont, and earned plenty of scholarships. Today, on World Diabetes Day, Zofia says having diabetes taught her to be independent, driven, and in tune with her physical needs in a way that most kids don’t have to be. She’s now working toward both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in education and social work as part of a five-year program. More: https://lnkd.in/e5XuCWht #WorldDiabetesDay

Today we celebrated milestone anniversaries, ranging from five to forty years, for a group of VSAC employees. Together, these extraordinary people marked 330 years of dedication. We honor them for their service, making sure that Vermonters have the financial information and resources they need to pursue education and training goals beyond high school. Well done! ??
