Where there is a will ... This is how we did the object detection on Meta Quest 3 from last week by circumventing the limitation of not having access to the device cameras It's using the Oculus casting feature to send the recording into a webview running in the game The content of the rendertexture is then sent into a MediaPipe CalculatorGraph that does the object detection It's of course not required to show the webview all the time but in this video we wanted to give everyone a feel for the latency We also confirmed that an online connection is not required anymore after the stream is established, shown here by disabling the internet connection on my phone hotspot Here is the UploadVR article that explains our technique in a bit more detail https://lnkd.in/dEzF-xGy We hope many developers will follow our path and do the same. Oh how much I love the last stretch towards a release deadline! Getting preinstalled on a yet to be announced headset means one has to start cutting ?? things left and right to make sure everything that gets shipped works as expected, because there are no second tries, the deadline is set in stone It really helps to focus ?? on what features are actually needed and what was just feature creep or needs a bit more time to mature and will be re-added later
