Today, we had the privilege of visiting Saint Mary's Hospital in Reno to present them with our Disability Inclusion Partner Award! A huge thank you to VR Nevada staff members Ken Pierson, Lori Caldwell, Gloria Chua, Mat Dorangricchia, and Mechelle Merrill for being part of this special moment. We were honored to recognize the hospital's exemplary efforts in hiring people with disabilities, truly leading by example in promoting inclusion and diversity in the workplace. Mat Dorangricchia, VR Nevada Northern District Manager presented the award to Jim Smith, CPA and Chief Financial Officer at Saint Mary's Hospital. Also, on hand to receive the award was Mark Reece and Melissa Anguiano Rios. The Nevada Vocational Rehabilitation Division (VR Nevada), a bureau of Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation, is “At Work for Disability Inclusion,” connecting employers with qualified employees to help drive business success. Our services are provided free of charge. https://vrnevada.org/about-us/ We’ll meet with you to determine your requirements and desired qualifications, and provide you referral to pre-screened and qualified candidates matched to your specific needs. Our assistance to your business includes soft-skill development, customized employee training strategies, reliable technical assistance, and if needed, an assessment of assistive technology. We provide quality assurance throughout the recruiting process, including comprehensive follow-up. VR Nevada can help you find candidates for full and part-time positions in these industries, and many more: Health Care & Medical Services, Tourism, Gaming & Entertainment, IT - Information Technology, Retail & Customer Service, Manufacturing, and Mining & Materials. 775-284-9645 (north) and 702-486-0372 (south) Funding from US Dept. of Education – For Nevada Vocational Rehabilitation (VR): Federal VR grant paid 78.7% of costs. In FFY2019, Nevada VR received $19,623,751 in Federal VR funds. Non-Federal funds paid 21.3% of costs ($5,311,130). For Supported Employment (SE): Federal grant paid 95% of costs. In FFY2019, Nevada VR received $69,685 in Federal SE funds. Non-Federal funds paid 5% ($4,003) of costs.
