Founded in 2015, the VR/AR Association is a global member community of the best minds in virtual reality and augmented reality with Chapters in major cities across the world designed to foster research, develop standards, and promote and connect members. Members of the VR/AR Association include enterprises, media and entertainment companies, advertising agencies, retailers, brands, professional sports teams, hardware developers of components, chipsets, accessories and head mounted displays (HMDs), software developers of gaming, entertainment, and productivity tools, content creators, universities and academic and entrepreneurship institutions. The VR/AR Association promotes and supports VR/AR Chapters in cities throughout the world. Chapters are run by a Chapter President who aims to support the VR/AR Association mission. Responsibilities include hosting meetups with speakers, industry panel discussions and presentations on a bi-monthly schedule, supporting local chapter research and case studies, and assisting in connecting and promoting member companies and individuals interested in growing every aspect of the virtual reality and augmented reality ecosystem.

Is the integration of marker-less motion capture and virtual reality a potential trend for entertainment and enterprise collaboration/training? I had the opportunity to attend IAAPA this week along with fellow VR/AR Association (VRARA) Chapter President and CEO of Magicgate, Skip Kimpel to explore new technologies and applications in the entertainment industry that could be relevant for our enterprise customers. We met with founder and CEO of M3D Technologies Matthew Hogan (M3D is also a VIROO Value Added Reseller) to experience their "Merge" entertainment experience first hand. Matt explains that they integrated virtual reality rocket launcher training technology they created for the US Air Force into their markerless motion capture system and a humongous LED wall as a MVP for an entertainment solution. We also got the chance to take some virtual "shots on goal" with their soccer experience. Imagine going to your favorite sports event and having some virtual experiences with other fans, or getting teams of colleagues together to experience new products or work spaces.
