This coming election, two states will use open-source voting machines: New Hampshire and Missisippi. Mississippi is where we started our work, and we're proud to power elections that everyone can trust thanks to the transparency of our machines. How do states ensure that their voting equipment is going to work reliably and securely on election day? Most states require their equipment to meet established standards set by the Election Assistance Commission, verified by an independent, federally accredited Voting Systems Testing Lab (VSTL). States also sometimes have additional requirements that are specific to their needs. We're proud to announce that VotingWorks is the very first voting equipment vendor to successfully test to the security and accuracy portions of the latest federal standard. We've also met all of New Hampshire's requirements. If you love technical detail, our complete testing report is attached below. Oh and we're fully open-source, too. So next week, VotingWorks will be the first new equipment in more than 30 years to be used in New Hampshire. Modern equipment, tested to modern standards, with full transparency. That's election technology you can trust.

We believe the time has come for open-source voting machines, because everything about our elections should be transparent. Election administrators already know and live this – they are completely open about everything they do.
