This summer we were fortunate to have Josh and Ryan as interns.?They helped us complete many projects including automating parts of our quote process and creating a database for some of the parts we have in storage.?They also got to work on the latest ACM test rig that we are building for delivery to a customer in Asia later this year. Vortex Systems is known for creating custom solutions for our customers’ needs in the world of aerospace test equipment. Today’s feature is a custom, high-pressure hydraulic rig capable of supplying up to 4000PSIG of pressure to a customer supplied unit. Using the industry knowledge that Vortex Systems is known for, the main control valves in this rig were modified and rebuilt to function at the specific gravity of the customer requested fluid. The rig’s main capabilities include: - Custom designed and fabricated brine tank, able to use liquid CO2 to achieve fluid temperatures down to -65°F - Custom sized concentric tube heat exchanger to efficiently achieve fluid temperatures up to 350°F without coking of the fluid - In-house designed and fabricated ambient box, complete with hydraulic bulkhead feedthroughs, blower, heater, and a CO2 supply solenoid - Capable of exposing a customer unit to 390°F hot and -65°F cold ambient temperatures as controlled by Vortex Systems designed electrical control chassis - Single-pass heating and cooling allows for rig equipment to run at room temperature fluid - In-house fabricated load frame, complete with a 5,000lb hydraulic load actuator, capable of exposing customer units to linear loads ranging from -5,000lbs to 5,000lbs - Designed to meet the requirements of Class 1 Division 1/Class 1 Division 2 Hazardous Location Classifications - Custom designed Data Acquisition System to operate, monitor, and record rig and customer unit conditions - Ability to facilitate use of customer provided data acquisition equipment - Ability to provide rig/customer unit automation capabilities upon request - Ability to collect, monitor, and analyze audio and vibration data from customer unit - Custom designed Human Machine Interface (HMI) to allow for intuitive manual rig control - Ability for a remote rig control room, complete with heating, air conditioning, and sound proofing for a comfortable operating experience Request a quote today by contacting our Design Team at 860-749-7259 or by visiting us on our website at www.vortexsystemsct.com.

What a week at Vortex!?We have added to the parking lot to accommodate our growing workforce.?Our Vibration testing business is getting going.?We crated up the test stand that is used for testing the valves used for the deicing systems on several jets.?To cap it off we had a Memorial Day cookout complete with swimming and all kinds of awesome food!
