Trucks, buses, construction equipment – and more. Battery electric vehicles are an essential part of our future transportation, mobility, and construction systems. The latest proof: Volvo Buses has received a major order of 106 electric buses from Svealandstrafiken in Sweden. This order includes 60 Volvo 8900 Electric intercity buses – the first since the model's launch last year – and 46 Volvo 7900 Electric Articulated buses for city operations. These buses will contribute to: ? Quieter, more sustainable public transport, both within cities and on regional routes ? Reduced emissions and improved energy efficiency Demand for electric buses for intercity and regional services is increasing across Europe, and the Volvo 8900 Electric is well-suited for this type of traffic.
We are proud to share that Volvo Trucks is the market leader for electric trucks in Europe and North America. “We are proud to be leading the transformation to zero emission transport. We have a very strong electric truck portfolio for regional, city and construction transport. Our next electric truck to the market will be running longer distances of up to 600 kilometers on one single charge,” says Roger Alm, President Volvo Trucks. Volvo Trucks’ total electric fleet has now covered more than 140 million kilometers in customer operations worldwide. That’s a big step toward zero-emission transport - but there’s still more to do. Scaling up the transition will require stronger charging infrastructure, a more favorable cost structure for operators, and policy support for zero-emission transport. The shift is happening, and together, we can accelerate it.
