We’re kicking things off with an employee spotlight - Meet Israel. After moving from Puerto Rico to establish a bilingual church, Israel Ortiz found his way to a career at Volvo Cars. Over 300 of our Canadian and U.S. dealers came to Charleston this week for the 2024 Volvo Retailer Conference. After kicking things off at the plant, retailers had an opportunity experience the #VolvoEX90 on the streets of the Lowcountry and our team was there to see them off!

Meet Jeff! ?? He began his Volvo journey as an Equipment Engineer in the Paint Shop at the Charleston Plant. In October 2022, Jeff and his wife moved to Gothenburg, Sweden for an international assignment to work with battery technologies for our next generation of vehicles. Since then, he has had an opportunity to return to Paint as manager of the local manufacturing engineering team at the Torslanda Plant! Jeff and his wife have loved their experience working at Volvo Cars in Sweden so much that they've decided to extend their stay until December 2025. The opportunities at Volvo Cars are endless! #lifeatvolvocars

Jason Brown, Team Lead for Launch, originally joined Volvo Cars in 2019, but moved away from the area to be closer to family. When he had the opportunity to return to Charleston, he knew that meant he would aim to come back to Volvo as well. Since returning, Jason has been involved in the launch of the EX90 as well as many other activities. If he is not in the plant, you might hear him in the choir, find him helping the garden club, or out in the community as a Brand Ambassador. #LifeatVolvoCars #MyVolvoStory?

Yesterday was National Intern Day! This summer, we welcomed students from Clemson University, NC State, Santa Clara University and the Stockholm School of Economics. They experienced all things Volvo, from learning about the plant and our cars, to learning about the industry and making new connections over fika. As their internships come to a close, we want to give them a big shout out and thanks from the Volvo team.
