Meet Alayna. ?? Alayna has made great progress over the last couple of years while in Communities In Schools at Booker T. Washington High School. Her attendance has improved significantly, going from 84 unexcused absences in the 2022-23 school year to 32 unexcused absences last school year. Now, with a more positive attitude and consistent encouragement from our CIS site coordinator, she is motivated to achieve her goal of having less than 20 unexcused absences this school year! ?? together, we can! To end this month, we recognize the importance of regular school attendance and its connection to each student’s success. In our CIS program, attendance is measured and tracked for case-managed students. Last school year, 857 students received intensive case management services. Of those, 74% met or made progress in their attendance goals. #voawhy #beingpresentmatters Communities In Schools
