The Volunteer Transportation Center, Inc. is a non-profit organization Thanks to the work of our certified volunteer drivers, staff, board of directors and the generosity of our donors the VTC provides essential rides to health and other destinations for residents of Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence Counties who have no other transportation alternatives. Our goal is to make a difference in peoples lives by giving access to the health care they need. MISSION STATEMENT Provide transportation to health, wellness and critical needs destinations utilizing volunteers and mobility management for anyone who has barriers to transportation.

Locas Amigas, a team of volunteer drivers led by Terra Thompson for the Volunteer Transportation Center, took home this year’s People’s Choice Award for the first time after many years of competing. The vote was made even more meaningful for Thompson and her team because it was a win by ONE VOTE and after ballot counters counted a second time to be sure of the results. This year’s winner for the People’s Choice Award for the restaurant-to-restaurant portion of the competition was again Silver Leaf Diner from De Kalb Junction, which also, for the first time took home the Top Fundraiser Award, raising more than $1,500 for the Volunteer Transportation Center!
