We're hours from pulling the wraps off our all-new, third generation Tiguan - and just one day away from the freshest Volkswagen lineup yet at Los Angeles Auto Show + AutoMobility LA! Most models in the Volkswagen lineup are all-new or refreshed for 2025. The Jetta family facelift hit showrooms in September, just prior to the debut of the refreshed Taos. Updated Golf GTI and R models were unveiled in Europe earlier this year, and will be seen on American shores for the first time in LA. The all-new ID. Buzz arrives at dealerships shortly, and the sheets will come off the third-generation North American Tiguan this evening. The Los Angeles Auto Show + Automobility LA media preview is November 21st, with the show open to the public from November 22nd to December 1st. The inaugural class of winners was chosen by Newsweek Autos editors based on their impact to the industry, importance to market and brand, as well as their cool factor. Buzz has been named to TIME’s 2024 list of the Best Inventions, which features 200 extraordinary innovations changing our lives. To compile this year's list, TIME solicited nominations from TIME editors and correspondents around the world, and through an online application process, paying special attention to growing fields—such as health care, AI, and green energy. TIME then evaluated each contender on a number of key factors, including originality, efficacy, ambition, and impact. ? Today, Volkswagen of America, Inc. announced the launch of new collision avoidance alerts that provide advance warning to drivers of oncoming roadside hazards and notify oncoming vehicles that a Volkswagen vehicle is disabled.? ? Volkswagen is the first automaker in the United States and Canada to integrate H.E.L.P.? and Road Awareness collision avoidance alerts from Emergency Safety Solutions within a suite of connected vehicle services. These alerts provide far greater warning to approaching drivers, helping give more time to respond to potential danger on the road ahead.? ? These new collision avoidance alerts are included in the Safe & Secure package, offered at no cost for the first five years after a new vehicle is purchased. A few days ago, we shared a story of Volkswagen enthusiast Peter Alau who in 2010, led a group of VW Buses down the City and County of San Francisco's Lombard Street as part of Treffen Cruise - a yearly event where VW owners trek the Pacific Coast Highway. The shot was captured on a simple 35mm camera and became famous within the Volkswagen community at a time where going viral was much more of a challenging task. Volkswagen of America is enhancing the 2025 ID. Buzz experience through a charging agreement with Electrify America. This initiative will provide ID. Buzz owners a seamless and cost-effective charging experience for three years, ensuring they can fully embrace electric mobility with ease and convenience across the largest open DC fast-charging electric vehicle network in the U.S. The 2025 ID. Buzz charging plan includes three years of Electrify America’s Pass+ membership, offering members preferential per-kilowatt-hour (kWh) rates of about 25 percent savings compared to standard pay-as-you-go options, plus 500 kWh of complimentary charging. The ID. Buzz also features Plug&Charge functionality, streamlining the charging process at Electrify America stations. By activating Plug&Charge in the Electrify America mobile app, ID. Buzz drivers simply plug in their vehicle and the charging session will automatically initiate, eliminating the need for them to reach for their wallet, smartphone, or bank card. Together, Volkswagen and Electrify America are paving the way for a more sustainable future by increasing zero-direct emission driving. With this new charging agreement, ID. Buzz drivers can experience the joy of electric mobility with confidence and convenience.
