Here is a bit more about the creator of this ‘Relatively Disconnected’:? Paola Rocchetti is the Co-Founder and Creative Partner at Void N' Disorder, an award-winning director with deep expertise in both creative and art direction. Her collaborations span high-profile clients such as Netflix, Google, and Riot Games, alongside major industry players like UNIT9, MPC, and Jack Morton Worldwide. As a Creative Partner for Runway, she co-led a workshop in Milan at the recent Digital Design Days event. Her significant recognitions include being selected as one of the Elite Eight finalists in the Culver Cup GenAI Film Festival AI short video competition; her finalist short “Relatively Disconnected” premiered at the Culver Theatre in Los Angeles in October 2024. The short follows a young woman’s fleeting encounter with an enigmatic character in a diner where everyone is immersed in their smartphones. This interaction propels her into a deep exploration of modern solitude masked by digital connections, sparking a quiet revolution within. Entirely generated by AI, directed and written by Paola Rocchetti created in collaboration with Simone Adami for the Culver Cup GenAI Film Festival. It was produced by Void N' Disorder & FM, placed among the top four short films globally, according to the juries at Amazon Web Services (AWS), Luma AI A.I and David Slade. “In recent years, the rise of AI has opened up exciting new possibilities for me as an artist and filmmaker. I’ve dedicated much of my time to experimenting with these tools, which I believe are not a replacement for human creativity, but a way to enhance it. Been quiet here as I’m in traveling mode, currently typing from the gate at Rome airport ready to board a flight to Seoul. Finally I got a moment to share “Relatively Disconnected” the short I directed for the Culver Cup GenAI Film Festival and that was crAIted in collaboration with Simone Adami (produced by Void N' Disorder and FM) It got to the semifinals at the live event at the Los Angeles Culver Theatre, during live voting. I was not able to attend in person as the fore mentioned travelling but I am happy to have had the opportunity to be part of such a fantastic event. Thank you, Filippo Spiezia and Digital Design Days for the opportunity to share my work during the Runway workshop. It was a pleasure to present alongside my good friend and AI trailblazer Guido Callegari and the talented Steph Jeong who led the workshop with her uniquely fun and original approach.
