We champion public policies and legislation that achieve positive and equitable outcomes for young people
关于我们
Voices for Virginia's Children is a statewide, nonpartisan research and advocacy organization that champions public policies to improve the lives of Virginia's Children. We are the independent voice advocating for children, especially those who are disadvantaged or otherwise vulnerable and who often go unheard in the public policy arena. Using our KIDS COUNT system, we track multiple indicators of the well-being of Virginia's children and use that information to identify unmet needs and guide policy recommendations. Through research, data-based policy solutions, and vigorous advocacy, we inspire Virginia's leaders and citizens to make children a higher public policy priority. Voices is a member of the Partnership for America’s Children and is home to the Virginia KIDS COUNT data center, which is supported by the Annie E. Casey Foundation. KIDS COUNT is a nationwide initiative to measure child well-being and promote data-based policy solutions. Voices for Virginia's Children is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization.

Grateful to Angie Miles for serving as our emcee for the 30th Anniversary Amplify Awards! It was truly a night to remember!
News Anchor, Broadcast Journalist, Media Professor, Author, Speaker, Literacy Educator and Consultant
Lifting up Virginia's children and families. That's the reason we came together recently to mark the 30th anniversary of Voices for Virginia's Children. Congratulations to the four outstanding winners of this year's Amplify Awards (Kenda Sutton-EL, founder of Birth in Color; Karen Rice, lifelong health educator and advocate; Ingris M., lead organizer of Tenants United, and Milah, a 13 year-old champion for youth mental health). I certainly enjoyed emceeing this event, moderating the panel discussion and recalling together the earliest days of this organization, when it was launched in 1994 and I knew them as the Virginia keepers of the Kids Count data, provided by the Annie E. Casey Foundation. It was essential reading when I was the For Kids Sake reporter/producer at WTVR. Thank you all for including me in your celebration, and special thanks to Chiereme Fortune and Rachael Deane. Best wishes to you all as Voices embarks on another decade of protecting, supporting and amplifying the voices of the most vulnerable.
