?? To get ready for Halloween, we took a trip to the Engineering Studios at Venture Lab to learn how to 3D print some spooky decorations! Watch as Studio Techs and Integrated Product Design (IPD) students Jeff C., Leila Idrissi, and Sammy Dreibelbis give us a crash course in printing in resin on a Form Labs Form 4 printer. The IPD program is a collaboration between Wharton, Penn Engineering, and the University of Pennsylvania Stuart Weitzman School of Design that brings together technical, business, and design perspectives. Supported by Penn Engineering in collaboration with Wharton, the Engineering Studios are a collection of labs dedicated to making ideas tangible through processes like laser cutting and 3D printing. Resin printing services will be available spring 2025. You can access their services by signing up for a Venture Lab membership and completing a safety training session.

I’m thrilled to announce that I have successfully defended my PhD dissertation! It’s been an incredible journey at University of Pennsylvania GRASP Lab, and I’m deeply grateful to my advisor M. Ani Hsieh and everyone who supported me throughout. It’s been a privilege to immerse myself in the world of robotics and AI over the past five years. Now, I’m diving full force into my startup, Daxo Industries, tackling the labor shortage in agriculture. We’ve already had a fantastic head start, thanks to the amazing support from Penn Engineering Entrepreneurship, Venture Lab , and the innovation funds from both The Wharton School and Jerome Fisher M&T Program. I can't wait to bring cutting-edge technology to the field and help solve the critical challenges facing the industry. ?? Last month, we had the privilege of honoring Bipul Sinha, Co-Founder, Chairman and CEO of Rubrik as the recipient of this year’s Penn Wharton Entrepreneurship Alumni Achievement Award. It was an incredible evening filled with insights, inspiration, and celebration of a Penn alumnus who has made a profound impact on the tech world. Bipul shared his journey from his early days at The Wharton School to founding Rubrik in 2014, taking it from a startup to a publicly traded company valued at over $3.3 billion, with Microsoft as a major backer. Bipul's leadership and vision have positioned Rubrik as a global leader in data protection, serving over 2,500 enterprise customers worldwide. He emphasized the importance of a values-driven culture and how fostering transparency and innovation has been key to Rubrik’s success. University of Pennsylvania and The Wharton School! Did you hear about our newest initiative at Venture Lab to address gender bias in entrepreneurship? Led by our Associate Director, Rebecca M. 2024 Bet On Entrepreneurship (BoE) has launched! This year, the Bet on Entrepreneurship Program will provide the unique opportunity for selected Penn undergraduate students who are currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program in the classes of 2027 and 2028, who identify as First-Generation and/or Limited Income (FGLI), with education focused on the entrepreneurial ecosystem, as well as facilitated access to professional entrepreneurial spaces, by supporting students through an introductory Spring Bootcamp and a subsequent 4-to-5-week summer placement within a local Philadelphia-area startup. Penn’s Venture Lab has launched a new initiative aimed at addressing gender biases in entrepreneurial ecosystems. The two-week program, titled “Breaking the Bias,” includes a series of events designed to support both company founders and investors who want to ensure equitable evaluations of gender-focused products, particularly when the investors themselves do not fall within the products’ target demographic. We're thrilled to announce that this year's Penn Wharton Entrepreneurship Alumni Award honoree is Bipul Sinha (WG'09), CEO, Chairman, and Co-Founder of Rubrik! Previously, Bipul was a Partner at Lightspeed where he focused on software, mobile, and Internet sectors. His investments included Nutanix, Pulse News, Bromium, and PernixData. Before Lightspeed, Bipul worked at Blumberg Capital, where he was the founding investor/board member of Nutanix and Hootsuite. Bipul also held engineering positions at Oracle Corporation, American Megatrends and IBM. Bipul received his Bachelor in Technology in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur where he was bestowed with the Distinguished Alumnus Award. Bipul completed his MBA in Finance from The Wharton School where he was a Palmer Scholar. Bipul holds several patents in distributed computing.
