This Social Worker Month we want to shoutout Keshia Lewis, LMSW! She loves creating connections with the people she helps. “I love building the relationships with the young students even though we are working with them for such a short time. I know it makes a difference. I have a young woman who I worked with last year but she still stops by to check in with me and even talk about things like the challenges of talking with her mom. Helping the people we serve is the most fulfilling and rewarding part of my job.” Thank you, Keshia, for always going above and beyond for others. ??

Last week our Veterans Program team met with the NYC Department of Veterans' Services (DVS) to discuss the challenges veterans and their families face when accessing care and benefits. To address these challenges, we'll be working with DVS on providing backpack filled hygiene items for veterans in their supportive housing program. We'll also start receiving referrals from DVS to guide veterans on making informed decisions about their care and connect them with services within our Veterans Program. A big thank you to Commissioner James Hendon, Senior Director of Housing and Support Services Lamarr Wheeler, USN Ret., Deputy Director of Housing Support Services Horng Letiz Chou, Donee' Smalls MBA, and DVS for helping us provide much needed support for our active and former military members.

This week we launched "Leadership Unlocked" a new leadership development program designed for our high-performing Directors and VPs. Cohorts in the 15-week program will participate in a mix of immersive learning experiences, coaching, mentorship, networking, VNS Health site visits, and more. They'll also have the opportunity to collaborate on a current challenge facing our organization that they'll present at their graduation. New York Conference in the capital district. We've recently acquired Alliance Home Services in the Bronx! Part of this acquisition will have over 200 Alliance home health aides transition over to VNS Health while clients continue to receive uninterpreted care from the HHAs.
