It was quite the busy week for Matt Sparling, MSED, Vivant's Vice President of Strategy & Development, along with Mike Strazzella and Sophia Estupinian (pictured in front of the U.S. Capitol) as they had over 12 meetings in two days. Their trip was focused on meetings on partnering with policymakers to help inform the discussion on behavioral health and autism services and to improve access to care.?While these trips make for long days, the potential outcomes will get more help to those in need of quality, trauma informed care services in both the Behavioral Health and Autism Based Services spaces. We are grateful for Vivant's dedication to creating pathways for better access to healthcare! #healthcareadvocates #leadership #austismawareness #mentalhealthawareness #traumainformedcare

For children who've experienced trauma, learning becomes secondary to survival. Kids aren't equipped with the tools to handle both. They will typically exhibit behaviors that are disruptive, or disengage. Schools can integrate a trauma-informed approach to connect kids with the guidance they need, at the right time. If you're an educator, explore the American Psychological Association's primer: "Students Exposed to Trauma" to get started. #TraumaInformed #School #Education #Students #BehavioralHealth

This National Invest in Veterans Week, Vivant is raising awareness for the challenges veterans face when they return to civilian life. Many of the values people gain in the military stick with them for life. The high-stakes situations do not. What's left is a gap that makes many veterans feel lost. "Effective treatment and recovery must address the particular challenges veterans face by prioritizing identity reconstruction. This means helping veterans rebuild structure, rediscover purpose and create a clear sense of who they are outside of the service." Trauma-responsive care promotes the physical, psychological, social, and moral safety and well-being of the individuals we serve. This article from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing demonstrates how important it is to consider all aspects. Important considerations as we celebrate National Invest in Veterans Week! #TraumaInformedCare #Veterans #Identity #Recovery #InvestInVeteransWeek

Here's what Lauren Raap, of Comstock Park Public School had to share: “I have been using Ukeru for about a year now, and since doing that, I would say that we have had less than 10 seclusion restraints for the entire year. Vivant shares the CEO Alliance for Mental Health's disappointment in ERIC’s lawsuit challenging the 2024 MHPAEA final rule. Blocking this progress would be a step backward during a critical time when increased need for behavioral health and substance use treatment can save lives. Let's move care forward instead of hindering it. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/e9GY2A_e #EmployeeMentalHealth #Parity #Advocacy #Mentalhealth #SubstanceAbuse #Treatment
