Last financial year, our paper mill on Gibson Island, Queensland ran on 22% more renewable energy than the 2023 financial year. To generate the heat and electricity we use to power our 100% recycled paper mill, our multi-fuel boiler used 53,197 tonnes of waste (the weight of nearly 9,000 African elephants!) that would have otherwise gone to landfill. That’s enough power for over 2,000 four-person households for a year! Here’s a peak behind the scenes when we gave the boiler a multi-million upgrade in 2023:

We’ve expanded our cardboard depot network to support banana growers ?? Our newest one in Innisfail is the tenth in our network in Queensland. The depots store banana cartons and erect them, ready for growers to fill with bananas before they’re transported to supermarkets across Australia.?

Our sea freight network, including this route from Portland, USA to ports in Australia, is helping us get critical raw materials to Australian manufacturers. This soda ash is some of the 100,000 tonnes Visy Logistics’ Bulk Division manages through a global supply chain each year.
