First 6 days in my new role – and what a week it’s been! ?? Kicked it off with the World Ag Expo in Tulare, where the mud didn’t slow down the action. Then, the Bio-solutions Conference in Fresno was a perfect blend of entertainment and learning. I had the chance to attend a pre-tour of the conference, visiting the Kearney Research Center, Wylie Farms, and even tasting some organic wine from Dorval Estate Winery ?? (who needs to be in the office for their first week anyways? ??).
All jokes aside, I’m loving the pace and the grit of this new position and can’t
wait to see what the future holds!
3 glaring observations I’d like to share with you:
1?? The VISTA F3 Team is STACKED. This dynamic team has been so welcoming and has truly set me up for success in this new role.
2?? The hunger for innovation and AgTech solutions is at an all-time high. This observation is obvious. Did anybody notice how dry it was this season? The need for novel technology has never been more urgent. UC Merced is here to partner.
3?? UC Merced's faculty are eager to help Central Valley stakeholders. The few that I’ve met are already inquiring about projects and how they can support me in my role. I’m excited to leverage both my team’s and the faculty’s support to help boost agricultural success across the valley.
