If you see Greg, Akeem, Lavel, Bob, Paul, Ken, or Matt around campus, give them a high five, a fist bump, or even a standing ovation—they’ve earned it! These seven hardworking guys are the reason our 17 buildings stand strong, our 37 acres stay beautiful, and our sidewalks stay safe. Maintaining an 80-year-old campus comes with surprises—leaky pipes, mystery noises, and unexpected fixes—but they handle it all with skill, dedication, and a great sense of humor. We truly couldn’t do what we do without you. Thank you for keeping Vista Maria running and making it a safe, beautiful place for our kids to heal!

Today, we’re sending a heartfelt thank you to our incredible donors. Because of your generosity, the Vista Boutique (an on-campus shop where residents can get free clothes, shoes, personal products, and accessories) received $182,713 in brand-new in-kind donations last year. And it’s already helping our youth feel more confident, supported, and valued. ??

On International Women's Day, we honor Sister Mary Euphrasia, foundress of the Sisters of the Good Shepherd, who established ministries and devoted her life to caring for girls and young women in need. Her unwavering courage and limitless love were reflected in the arrival of five Sisters of the Good Shepherd in Detroit, where they established their first home, providing refuge for the thousands of girls and young women left behind by the Industrial Revolution. The compassion, kindness, and strength of these pioneering nuns laid the foundation for what would become Vista Maria. Thanks to the dedication and resilience of many remarkable women, Sister Mary Euphrasia’s vision has flourished into the Vista Maria we know today.

Anxiety, behavior disorders, and depression are the most commonly diagnosed mental health conditions in children. Yet, just over half of those struggling have received treatment from a professional in the past year. At Vista Maria, we’re working to change that. Through compassionate care, therapy, and support, we help youth heal, build resilience, and find hope for the future. Because no child should have to face mental health challenges alone.
