As the premier gathering for caterers, event planners, and suppliers, this conference provided an immersive environment to learn, innovate, and connect. Stacy, Elise, and Sarah explored the latest industry trends, attended insightful sessions, and built valuable relationships with vendors—helping us bring fresh ideas and elevated experiences to Baton Rouge. The Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) is bringing the PPA Tour Challenger Series Powered by JOOLA to Baton Rouge in April 2025 for the Baton Rouge PPA Challenger—marking the first professional pickleball tournament in the state! This high-energy competition will take place at Stacks Pickleball sports complex, setting the stage for an unforgettable event. The time has come for Baton Rouge to transform into the bowling capital of the United States! Tomorrow marks the start of 150 straight days of bowling with the United States Bowling Congress in the Raising Cane's River Center - ASM Global. Special Olympics gets things started tomorrow with the USBC Open Championships beginning Saturday evening. Over the next 150 days, nearly 60,000 bowlers and their guests will converge in waves to compete in this event. This is a huge win for the City of Baton Rouge! The economic numbers from the last time this tournament was held here in 2012 are staggering. Nearly 100,000 total people are expected to visit the area. The economic impact in 2012 was over $112 million. The average spend per person, not including lodging, was $586. Over the next five months, visitors will be spending money in our hotels, restaurants, retail establishments, attractions and casinos. This is real money going into our economy supporting our local businesses and generating tax revenue that ultimately improves the lives of our residents.
