With the completion of the Front and Marconi Streets two-way conversion, we’re proud to advance Columbus’ commitment to Vision Zero—prioritizing safer streets and protecting all who travel downtown. This project is a step toward reducing traffic risks and building a community where everyone, whether walking, biking, or driving, can navigate safely and confidently. Together, we're creating a safer, more connected Columbus for all! #VisionZero #SaferColumbus

We are truly honored to receive the 2024 MORPC Safe Streets Urban Transportation Safety Award for our efforts in the Downtown Speed Conversion project! This recognition highlights Columbus Department of Public Service commitment to Vision Zero, where safety is at the heart of everything we do. By lowering the speed limit from 35 mph to 25 mph in the downtown corridor, we are actively working toward a future where no life is lost or seriously harmed on our streets. This is just one step in our Vision Zero Action Plan, and we’re determined to keep pushing for safer streets for everyone. #VisionZero #SafeStreets #CommunityFirst #TransportationSafety

Vision Zero is making transformative changes so you can make every month Bike Month! Recently, a quick-build, two-way separated bike lane was tested on E Broad Street with a pop-up event. Members of advocacy organizations, a variety of City and Council staff, Vision Zero partners and residents who bike came together to evaluate the new barrier and bike facility types used at the event. Feedback from this event has shaped the design of an exciting new demonstration project on E Broad Street. Thanks to the federally-funded Safe Streets for All project, Columbus will soon add protected bike lanes to E Broad Street later this year. Using quick-build safety projects to reduce crashes is a key strategy in our Vision Zero Action Plan 2.0 (2023-2028).
