??Leonard Yang, a Singaporean artist currently based in Brooklyn, New York, creates evocative works that bridge the personal and the mythic. Holding a Bachelor of Arts in Photography and Digital Imaging from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and an MFA from Parsons School of Design, The New School, Yang has exhibited extensively across the United States and South Asia. Yang’s creative process is deeply intuitive, beginning with abstract gestures and bold color palettes that merge with imagery drawn from subconscious thoughts and dreams. His paintings, executed with urgency and intensity, reflect the psyche of a recent immigrant grappling with nostalgia and displacement. Fragments of Singapore—old kampongs, vanished housing estates, and iconic shophouses—emerge in his landscapes, blending with his present surroundings in Brooklyn. The creatures woven into his compositions evoke chaos, apocalypse, and rebirth, referencing Eastern and Western mythologies. While his work expresses frustration with the pressing global crises of climate change, xenophobia, and the erosion of democracy, his vibrant hues serve as a beacon of hope, hinting at the possibility of a more compassionate world. As his practice evolved, Yang transitioned into the slower, reflective medium of monotypes, turning his gaze toward the layered history of Brooklyn. His newest series In The Lost City conjures ghostly remnants of New York’s past, from fading Art Deco architecture to entire districts swallowed by time. The concept of being "lost" takes on multiple meanings—whether referring to the city’s ever-changing landscape, the solitary wanderer searching for belonging, or the broader existential loss of humanity itself. ??Yang’s art captures the tension between longing and adaptation, between personal history and collective uncertainty, deeply resonating with Fractured Horizons. Through striking visual narratives, he invites us to navigate these fractured landscapes—both real and imagined—offering a sharpened meditation on what it means to belong in a constantly shifting world. ?? Fractured Horizons is currently accepting submissions—stay tuned for updates on the exhibition and how to experience Leonard Yang’s work alongside other powerful voices. ??Apply now to the exhibition through https://lnkd.in/efQnWKV3 - ??Photo courtesy of Artist [1]Asian Bleeding Heart, 2024, Oil on Canvas, 25 x 30” [2]Javanese Hut 01, 2024, Oil on Canvas, 25 x 30” [3]In The Lost City # 17, 2025, Monotype on Paper, 22 x 30” [4]In The Lost City # 03, 2025, Monotype on Paper, 8 x 11”

Sun Hongtao, an internationally acclaimed contemporary artist based in the United States, is a visionary in new Chinese color ink painting and marker art. His work bridges tradition and modernity, where the supernatural beauty of ancient Chinese art meets the bold energy of contemporary techniques. Imagine a world where water drifts above the clouds, where boundaries dissolve, and elements merge into a luminous, otherworldly realm. Sun Hongtao’s art brings this mythic vision to life. With delicate washes of traditional color ink and the vivid intensity of modern markers, he transforms Xuan paper into a fluid dance of water, clouds, and light. His layered textures invite viewers into a dreamscape where reality and imagination intertwine. Standing in front of his paintings, you step into a contemplative space. Are you floating above the sky, or submerged beneath the waves? You become both the bird in flight and the fish in the depths—immersed in a boundless world that transcends the canvas. Shuiyuntu: The Spirit of Exploration In the Shuiyuntu series, Sun explores humanity’s resilience in the face of uncertainty. Keeping the heritage of the Song Dynasty literati painting style, he reinterprets classical motifs with a contemporary touch. His expressive brushwork embraces essence over form, where vast fields of green meet the emptiness of white space, textured by the "flying white" (feibai) technique. This interplay between void and substance, softness and solidity, breathes new life into traditional aesthetics, crafting a visual language that speaks to the present. Ocean and clouds—recurring elements in the series—suggest the vastness of time and space, evoking both disorientation and longing. Yet within this immensity lies a quiet serenity, echoing the Taoist ideal of “simplicity surpassing all beauty” (朴素而天下莫能与之争美). Sun Hongtao’s work is more than a visual experience—it is an invitation to journey through the emotional and philosophical depths of nature and humanity. His fusion of ink and marker, tradition and modernity, blurs the lines between worlds, opening new horizons of possibility. Join us at Fractured Horizons, where Sun’s painting tells a story of harmony, discovery, and the timeless beauty of the natural world. ??Apply now to the exhibition through https://lnkd.in/efQnWKV3 - ??Photo courtesy of Artist

One of the talented artists we've had the pleasure of supporting is Yan (Jennifer) Zeng, whose innovative works push the boundaries of immersive storytelling. Her pieces, Ghost Broke The Shell and Alice’s AR In-Campus Journey seamlessly blend hand drawing, digital tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, Rhino), and immersive technologies (Unity, ARKit) to create multidimensional experiences that captivate and inspire. ?? Jennifer shared: "VSDesign provided me with not just an exhibition opportunity but a community of support that truly values artistic innovation. Their guidance helped me refine my creative vision and reach a wider audience." Jennifer’s work was featured in our recent exhibition, On the Critical Point: Wanderlust and Nostalgia in the New Age. In it, she explored themes of memory, transformation, and digital realities. Her multimedia artwork, which included the facets of architecture, product design, and founding design, resonated deeply with audiences, demonstrating how technology empowers storytelling. ?We are incredibly proud to have been part of Jennifer’s journey and can’t wait to see where her creativity takes her next! ??
