In-School Financial Wellness Officer at Visions Federal Credit Union / Newark Valley School District
Today was a very successful Visions FCU Life is a Reality event at Newark Valley High School! We had an amazing experience going through a real-life budgeting simulation. Both junior and senior students were able to choose if they wanted to go into the workforce or college following high school careers. They then went through stations such as Housing, Transportation, Groceries, Clothing, Saving, College Loans, Entertainment, Phone/TV/Internet, and more! The students received career sheets that had an average entry-level salary for the workforce or career paths they had chosen. The students had their net monthly income to budget for all the stations listed above.
