?? My company, Visions to Visuals, is going strong! ?? In February, two friends from Modesto Junior College and I decided to put our skills to use and started our very own web development agency, Visions to Visuals. The process of learning how to run a business has been a truly eye-opening experience, and it has been fascinating to watch the three of us fill different roles in the company based on our diverse skill sets. Since February, we’ve been working with clients to create a digital presence where their brand’s values and stories come to life. While we were initially inexperienced, we approached each challenge with a can-do mentality and have now built projects ranging from static websites to e-commerce stores across a variety of web builders, including WordPress, Webflow, Framer, and even React.js! Key moments I’m particularly proud of: ?? Reducing web hosting costs for clients by up to 50% by switching from managed WordPress hosting to a VPS, where we handle the setup, maintenance, and security ourselves. ??? Building a fully functional e-commerce store. ?? Using custom code to connect to an external API to allow ticket purchases and automated highlighting of upcoming events on the site’s landing page.
