VMOTA plays a prominent role in Southern California and the international arts and culture scenes in establishing the importance of contemporary textiles as fine art. Prism Play: Moon River by Donna Brennan Working in a single brilliant hue is not much different than working in black and white. I could have done a portrait or a floral where this shade of blue would not be a realistic color. However, my chosen subject, a nighttime landscape, actually seems true to color. This is the color we imagine a moonlit river to be. The night is monochromatic, the sky is dark blue, the river is blue, and all the greens are hidden.
