    I was scared buying my dad’s practice would ruin our relationship. It did the opposite. I've paid my dad over $4M in my dental career. A lot people say that money and family should never mix - that's not my experience. ?? Contracts force communication. ?? Negotiations reveal values. ?? The best deals strengthen relationships. By the time the deal was done, my dad and I were more aligned than ever. But it's not just my relationship to my dad that got strengthened by this process. It's the way I go into EVERY negotiation. Money is always an emotional thing. It helps to be able to empathize with the person across from you. So now I go into every negotiation like it's my dad at the table with me.
