Today, at EASL, we presented the first ever immunogenicity data for VRON-0200. In chronically HBV-infected patients, many of whom had little to no documented HBV-immune responses prior to vaccination, we reported that a single low dose of VRON-0200 was able to induce T cell responses in the majority of patients. ?In responders, T cells increased 4-fold at Day 28, and several patients had T cell levels above their baseline values up to Date 91.? Today we presented our first ever human data for our lead program, VRON-0200 for HBV Functional Cure at the APASL meeting in Kyoto, Japan. These data, the first ever for a genetically encoded checkpoint modifier containing vaccine of any kind, represent a critical first step in Virion's mission to bring a safe, well tolerated, and easy to administer interferon-sparing functional cure immunotherapy to HBV-infected patients worldwide. This past weekend we presented compelling preclinical oncology data at SITC - the addition of gD, our lead checkpoint modifier, which alters early T cell activation, was necessary for anti-tumor activity, improved survival, and provided complete protection upon high-dose tumor rechallenge. In addition, when tumors were allowed to become large prior to treatment, the addition of gD roughly doubled survival times.
