Had a fantastic ENV Training yesterday with the Viridis Consulting LLC team! Thank you, Mabell Garcia Paine, President of Virdis Consulting and colleague Anca Enache, MBA, Sustainability Project Manager for participating in such an engaging session. The training was customized to their company needs and strategic future offerings, which made it even more relevant. WRISE LA's programming and initiatives are the work of our volunteer Board of Directors. To introduce the people behind the scenes of our local chapter, we've asked each of the board members to respond to a few questions. First up is 2024's fearless leader, Mabell Garcia Paine, who serves as our Chapter Director. ?? Tell us a little about yourself. I’m founder and CEO of Viridis Consulting LLC, a clean energy advisory firm. I’ve spent my career in the energy industry mostly working with utilities on customer programs. I’m a native Angeleno, now live in Pasadena and an empty nester. Two years in and still getting used to it. ?? What got you into renewable energy? I stumbled into the industry but found that my marketing background was an important voice especially in rooms predominantly filled with engineers. ?? What is your background? I started my career in hispanic advertising then segued to SoCalGas where I managed the company’s ad agencies. I saw that the utilities were growing their portfolio of energy efficiency programs and I transitioned to that side of the business. I found that I loved it. As for my education, I have a Bachelors of Art in Liberal Studies with a minor in French. Two years ago I went back to school and received a Master of Science in Entrepreneurship and Innovation.? ?? What keeps you going on the days when it feels like you are only banging your head into a wall? What a good question! On days when another report comes out talking about the dire news related to climate change I go for a run or simply step away. I’m an optimistic person and I make a point of appreciating the positive impact of the work I’m involved in. ?? What are some of your most fulfilling accomplishments in your career? Starting Viridis is the most fulfilling accomplishment and it was also the most terrifying. I’m happy to say that the company turned 5 years old last month and we are going strong. ?? What do you want to share about WRISE LA? WRISE welcomes everyone! We’re excited to introduce WRISE to the clean energy community in Los Angeles and reintroduce WRISE to those who have attended events in the past.
