U.S. offshore wind is estimated to employ up to 49,000 workers annually for assembly, parts production, shipping, and more. ? #CVOW alone will create more than 1,000 good paying, long-term #jobs in the Hampton Roads area and support the region through $210 million in economic output, $6 million in local revenues, and $5 million in state revenue. ? #OffshoreWindJobs ? https://lnkd.in/eqApCYxR

According to the U.S. Department of Energy, renewable energy jobs grew at more than TWICE the rate of the overall American labor market in 2023. Some stats on the U.S. energy workforce: - Veterans make up 9% of the U.S. energy workforce. - The energy workforce is young, 29% of workers are below the age of 30. - Minority workers make up more than 30% of the new energy workforce. #CVOW is continuing to contribute to this growth with more than 1,000 long-term jobs, by completion, resulting in roughly $57 million in pay and benefits for offshore wind workers. https://lnkd.in/d5H9KnEj

#CVOW alone will create 900 jobs during construction and 1,100 long term jobs once complete. Combined, these jobs will pay more than $139 million in compensation and benefits, more than $353 million in economic output, and provide ~$8million in revenue to local Hampton Roads. #OffshoreWindJobs

?? Virginians for Offshore Wind: 2024 Year in Review ? This year marked significant milestones in advancing clean energy and offshore wind development in Virginia: ? Virginia Maritime Association Executive Director: "Offshore wind energy holds immense potential for Virginia." Coalition members toured the pilot #CVOW turbines and Fairwinds Landing’s facility. #CVOW successfully installed 78 monopile foundations during its first piling season with the groundbreaking installation vessel, Charybdis. Successfully and safely installed 4 offshore substation foundations. The coalition reached 60 members, reflecting growing support for renewable energy initiatives. Project is now 43 percent complete, remaining on budget and on schedule. ?
